Recipes test: Chocolate Muffins in the house!

Are you a muffin or cupcake person? Chocolate or vanilla?
Well I'm defiantly a Chocolate Muffin person. I love Muffins and I'm Chocoholic. Put the two together and I surrender!

As usual, I spent hours hunting down good recipes on Pinterest, prating them and test them. I came across this recipe few months back and decided to give it a try~

My thoughts on it:
  • For a starter, Its very simple and easy to make!
  • Makes 12 Muffins.
  • Lovely smell..very very lovely.
  • I did not like the crunch on top, nor hated it. It wasn't crunchy.
  • The muffins were not too sweet, perfect for me.
  • Tender and fluffy texture

Would I make these again? I like trying out different recipes but If I need something I tested before then this is the recipe I'll use. I trust it...you know what I mean? lol
Anyways, try this recipe and let me know if you like it! Enjoy~

Bath and Body Works Scented Candle. A must have!

I never really cared for candles before. I bought few MANY YEARS ago and never touched them until my lamp's pulp decided to die recently. And because I'm a very lazy person I did not buy a new pulp, instead I lit one of my old candles.

LET THE OBSESSION BEGIN!

I first used the oldest ones, I can't even remember where I got them from. I bored of it and decided to lit my giant big BIG Bath & Body Works "Frosted Cupcake".......Its smells like...ummm..better than real life frosted cupcakes!! (OH YES I SAID IT) I love vanilla, brown sugar, coffee, cinnamon and all things sweet kind of scents and this  one hit my weak spot. I have to say that the scent doesn't come the moment you lit the candle, give it 10 minutes and your room will smell so so so warm and nice and clean..ugh it smells so good. I believe they last long, I abused mine this week and its still more than 2/3 of it!

Just few days ago I went to the movies and I passed by Bath & Body Works. Do I need to say more? Of course I bought more candles. Duh. I found these AMAZING fall and winter limited collection. Since its doesn't get very autumnal here and I love everything autumnal I decided to two of the fall collection that I really liked.
~Autumn~

"Autumn" has, what would I call, a clean scent. I don't know how to describe it. Its the kind of scent that makes you feel clean..makes sense? it does have a fall touch to it, I'm just bad at describing scents lol.

~Marshmallow Fireside~

The second one I got is "Marshmallow Fireside"..uggh I love the name. The scent is perfect. Seriously. For some reason it reminds me of my dad (May he rest in peace), maybe thats why I picked it up. Its very settle and calm? yeah..

Just look at the candle lid! So adorable. A kind of rosy gold lid with two leaves on the side...how cute is that?

I'll make sure I also grab the winter collection too, for hot summer days! (I don't quite like summer)

Have a good day~

Recipe test-lab: Cappuccino Biscotti

mmmmmm...I'm craving some right now!

I don't think I made Biscotti before, this was my first attempt! I found this recipe on Pinterest, as usual haha! My mom loves these so much she asked me do them again and again at family gatherings. What I love about these kind of baked goodies is that you can just store them in a box and enjoy them all week long...if they last that is! They are tiny perfect  biscotti. I guess you can make one log instead of two logs and cut them bigger, but I like them tiny. The recipe makes about 20 biscotti~

Oh..Did I mention that they smell HEAVENLY? Instead of Chocolate chips I added butterscotch chips, because I just felt like it lol I think both are good for this recipe!

Would I do this again? Yes yes yes yes! Does the recipe pass the test? Oh heck ya! Its a keeper!

Now go bake some and enjoy with tea~
Ja ne~!

October book recommendations & November reading-list!

Osuu!

October is gone, quiet fast, and its time to talk about the books I read during this month.
Rest assure there will be no spoilers!

The first book is "The Impossible Lives of Greta Wells" by Andrew Sean Greer that I actually started reading late September. To be honest I had a hard time to just sit and read this book at the beginning but then it got a little bit more interesting. The story is (at least to me) sad. I can't say that I loved the book but it is worth reading. What I really liked is the different use of time travel. I won't say more than that!

The second book is "If I Stay" by Gayle Forman. I picked this book before traveling to UK to read on the plane.  I really loved Forman's writing style. Its very simple and smooth...Does that make sense? I liked the book so much that just few days before traveling back home I went and picked " " which is the squeal, and third book on my recommendation list! I was SO EAGER to know what happened next, because the first book ended with no ending. Yup. Anyways, I LOVED the second book so so so much. Its the kind of book that you want to hug in bed and never lend it to anyone. Because its precious. Very precious. go read it. NOOOWWW!

The last book is..*drumroll*... "The Devil in the Marshalsea" by Antonia Hodgson. This is Hodgson's first published book and its AMAZING. I can't wait to see what she'll write next. I picked this book at Heathrow Airport before hoping on my plane because I read "Where she went" so fast I was bookless by the time I arrived at the airport. To be honest I never thought I'd enjoy reading historical fiction this much! Its mysterious, there are murders, brutal living conditions in the Marshalsea, and all sort of exciting things. The story happens in the 18th Century in London, so be ready to learn a great deal of everything in that Century!

Thats all I read in October~ I'd say that "If I stay" and its squeal are my favorite read!
Did you read any? Let me know (^ o ^)/

My November reading goal is 4 books! So far this is my list: (I change the list depending on the books and my mood. I'm very moody haha)

-Chocolate by Joanne Harris (I'm Chocoholic...hmm)

-The peculiar life of a lonely postman by Denis Theriault.
-Allegiant by Veronica Roth.
-The memory book by Rowan Coleman (If I can actually find the book, I'd hate to read on iPad)

Do you have any recommendations?

Ja ne!
